Last Day Of Classes

Mr. Maksymchuck started out the class talking about all the stuff we need to hand in, than went on about having a good breakfast and getting alot of sleep.
He gave us the class to get help, and prepair for the exam, which is 15% of our exam.
Some people also wanted him to go over the practice exam and tell us the answers.
And that concludes the last day of this semester.

Exam





Today we talked about the format of the exam, and what we are allowed to do and what we aren't allowed to do during the exam. The exam is roughly 40% multiple choice questions, of which we are only required to answer a certain amount of. 60% of the exam is long answer and other questions where you have to show your work, and math skills.
We are allowed to use our spreadsheets on the exam, as well as the math programs we have used throughout this course. We are also allowed to use our calculator and formula sheets. We can't use the internet to search, or use the blo. We can't communicate with classmates, or use cellphones. That is all we did today.

January 21, Substitute

Today we had a substitute teacher. Mr.Maksymchuk told us the day earlier it was a work period for the two days he is gone. So some people tried to get there math objectives done. Others tried to get there study sheet for the exam all written down, and people like me tried to do the time graph project. So I was out of the class for all of the class time, but I'm sure our class was nice to her, we usually are. So the time was pretty much used up as catch up class or finish assigned work.

Work Period

Today in class was a work period. We worked on accelerated math, practice exam and some students worked on their CBL/CBR. We are working hard to get as much done before our exam on Tuesday Jan.27 in the afternoon. We are also done Mental Math for this year.

Peer Evaluation

Today we got evaluation sheets, in which we pulled a name out and whom you got you evaluate. We also got old exams to study off of. We worked on our distance time graphs and AMO. Get your marks in and contribute to the blog!!

Yet another blog post...

Today we did not have Mental Math because we have been promised only work periods from today Monday, Jan 19th to Friday, Jan 23. Today we started our evaluations for someone in the class for their blog posts. After we picked names we were told we could work on our CBL, CBR projects or our ACC Math.

**OUR EXAM IS ON THE TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK WHICH IS JANUARY, 27TH '09**

remember those who are on the ski trip tomorrow the bus leaves at 8:00 am and we get back at around 5:30 pm

Today in class we did not do mental math as we are done for the year! Also Mr.Maksymchuk gave us a old exam to study from, and he also gave us a peer evaluation for the blog.

We had a work class today so we could work on our blog, old exam, accelerated math and CBL/CBR.

Exams are in one week a little more than a week! SO STUDY UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Almost over

Today in class we had started off by calculating then handing in our Mental Math sheets (MM). Mr.Maksymchuk then had given us two sheets of paper:
  1. A old exam review to help students learn what they need to study to for sure pass the class.
  2. A evaluation sheet on the blogging other students did in our class, telling there ups and downs in the blog.

I found this class rather nice because it gave people a chance to catch up on assignments, not worry about mental math so much, and gave people a chance to make improvements on what they know and need to know. The ysemester is almost over now so the pressure is getting on some people. I wish the best of luck to you all and hope everyone passes.GOOD LUCK!

Jan.12 Functions and Relations

We started with mental math and then did notes for half an hour and with the last ten minutes we worked on graphing or accelerated math. The notes were one functions and relations(including domain and range)

Today in class there was no mental math beacuse MR. Maksymchuks computer was not working proper. Also more groups were off to start there CBL/CBR projects, as others finished. After we finished we were to do accelerated math the amount of mastered objectives that we are soposed to have is somewhere in the 70s.

Today in class we started of by going to do mental math (MM) but plans were changed due to technical difficulties. After Mr. Maksymchuk just went straight to explaining and letting others continue the CBL/CBR project. In the project we are supose to connect our calculator to the CBL detector thing, then connect that to the piece that gives off sound for 10 seconds. These are connected by wires. If you don't use the CBL, the you are using the CBR, in which you only connect the calculator and the piece that gives off sound by a little wire. Once the sounds are done being sent out they give ff shape which come with recording and we records those into a booklet which is provided to use, these recordings are better taken agains a flat surface. Not all of the class has started this project yet but we are geting there one group at a time. Those of the people who didnt do the project or couldn't, those people continued on getting objectives.

January 5/09

Today was our first class since the Christmas break. Today we started with Mental Math like we always. After that I was in a group that went with Mr. Maksymchuk so he could show us how to do an assignment. The assignment deals with recreating graphs from bouncing sound off a flat surface. I think that the rest of the class worked on Accelerated Math while I was learning about the assignment. The assignment is due on January 26 along with the rest of our Accelerated Math.
