Sept. 30/08

Today in Math Class we started class with Mental Math. There was one question on there that had everyone tricked which was, How many months have 28 days? The answer was 12. Then Mr. Maksymchuk taught us some more things on our graphing calculator. The notes we took on this are at the top. Finally, we all did our Accelerated Math. I thought I would also mention that we have a test tomorrow. The test has nothing to do with math. We are being tested on how well we behave with the substitute teacher. Mr. Maksymchuk wants us to follow all of the classroom policies and be nicer to the sub then we were the last time.

TODAY:
First of all...

This is a 73 year-old substitute I found on Google.
He's... not happy.
Our teacher wasn't very pleased with our actions.
Mr. Maks wasn't impressed.
We all need to work on keeping converstations relevant to the math.
I'm sure this won't be happening again.
I hope she still wants to come back here.
Next:
Mr.MaKs CuT uS sOmE sErIoUs SlAck!
He moved our due date to next Friday for the first 9 objectives!

Math class!! -thursday!!

...
[Photo][Photo][Photo][Photo][Photo][Photo][Photo][Photo][Photo][Photo] Today we started class off with mental math!! like always!! Each row chose an accelerated math question we didnt like. Mr. maksymcuk then showed us how to find the awnsers the pre-calc way and the graphing calculator way. He then told us his most embarassing teaching story! One day during his grade 12 class the students were laughing at him so then finally someone told him that his fly had been open for 45 minutes! ahhh poor guy!! He told us this story because today there were 2 girls waiting for him to open the door for almost 10 minutes and he was embarassed! We then took alot of notes on our accelerated math!!
This thing that you are looking at is a blog. A blog is use to post work from other classes that we did. It is something that enables you to get work or notes that you need to know if you were absent that day. Then that way the teacher is not asked a million questions, Do i thing its worth wild. Well ya, it gives you something else that can edjucate you in a whole new way. Its something new, and new things are not always a bad thing. So next time that you miss a day, and you dont get the work or notes that you need well... dont ask the teacher, just pull up your blog and get the info from there!

September 17, 2008

Today in class we did mental math, like always, then we checked out the blog and did a homework check on our joke sheets. After we did that, we corrected some questions on the joke sheets if you had any difficulty with one of the pages Mr.Maksymchuk showed us how to do them. Then we got some sheets on accelerated math and were assigned to do as many questions as we can and show all work where applicable and that's all for today's class.

Today in class Mr.Maksymchuk went through the Calculator Basics. He showed us how the home screen works and graphing basics

This day we learned how to do radical simplification, it was doing pythagorean theorem to find the height of the cone, than taking square root of 52 in a different way. (or something)

Here is just the logo for the Everett Silvertips and a link to their website.

We covered a few things in math class today. Firstly, we talked about posting appropriate pictures, for our practise post. This includes no nudity, or anything that could be offensive. Secondly, we talked about having a math glossary, to keep track of through our years of math. A glossary is where you post terms and definitions that we learned in math. Their are two differnt styles, we can use for our glossary. You can either do it with pen and paper, or post it on the web, for instance your blog. Lastly, we discussed our behaviour when we have a substitute, and how we should work just as hard, and behave just as we would when Mr. Maksymchuk is here.
